The Sea at Bruijstens Art / Wendingen Salon 390, Amsterdam, 2008

Wendingen gaf een opdracht aan componiste Calliope Tsoupaki en Nico Parlevliet om hun krachten te combineren. Beiden groeiden dicht bij de zee op, de componiste aan de Griekse kust, Parlevliet in Katwijk aan Zee. Inspiratiebron is een Japanse novelle, getiteld 'The Hunting Gun', waarin een relatie wordt beschreven van één man tot drie vrouwen. De installatie bestaat daarom uit 3 delen; elk object vertegenwoordigt een vrouw uit het verhaal. Deel 1: De Zee (naar de maîtresse en haar omgeving), Deel 2: Bed van de bedrogen echtgenote (naar de echtgenote) en Deel 3: Tafeltje zonder titel (naar de dochter).
Op 17 maart 2000 zond de VPRO de première van 'The Hunting Gun' gespeeld door Wendingen live uit vanuit de Amstelkerk te Amsterdam. De uitvoering in het Dordrechts Museum was op 9 april 2000. Een derde optreden was in de Oosterpoort te Groningen. (See: fragment)

Wendingen commissions the componiste Calliope Tsoupaki and Nico Parlevliet to combine their strengths to compose a music piece. Both grew up near the sea, the componiste to the Greek coast, Parlevliet in Katwijk aan Zee-the Netherlands. A Japanese novelle, called 'The Hunting Gun', in which a relation is described from one man to three women, is the source of inspiration. For this reason the installation consists of 3 parts, in which each object a woman represent in the tale. Part 1: The Sea (towards the maîtresse and her surroundings), part 2: Bed of the deceived husband (towards the man's wife) and part 3: Table without title (towards the daughter).
On 17 March 2000 the VPRO-radio broadcasted the première of ' The Hunting Gun', live played by Wendingen in the Amstelkerk in Amsterdam. The concert in the Dordrechts Museum was on 9 April 2000. A third action was in the Oosterpoort in Groningen. (See: fragment)
